We are taking our final camping trip of the year this weekend and I'm sure it's not going to be pretty. We are going with 3 different families that I work with and my cousins family. It always turns into an eating fest and I'm hoping to be good. I just hope we have nice weather so I can get a few walks in and work some of the yummies off. Wish me luck.

You know there is nothing wrong with enjoying the family outings, half the part of it is the food in my family as well. I have problems watching my intake when I visit with them, but what I started doing is bringing a little note book with to record everything like I would here, the only problem i the calorie/fat/etc amounts that the website gives, I only know a few calorie numbers for. However it still let's you see the ratios and you can still put them in when you get home and get an idea for the nex time!
  • Bring some healthy snacks ~ you can do this! Think how great you will feel after the weekend is over and you have come out eating great!

Since you've been eating healthier for a while now, you may find that you won't over indulge like you did before. Your good eating habits might be ingrained more thsn you expect.
At our family reunion Labor Day there were lots of treats, snacks, sodas & booze, but except for a little wine & a few chips I did really well. I didn't even gain a pound over the long weekend. I guess I'm just more food conscious than I thought.
    Good luck. Have fun! Enjoy.

  • My large back pack saves me here. I usually take that thing with me anywhere I go. I fill it with tasty healthy snacks, sandwiches, water, etc... Stuff that i know I will eat and that I know is good for me. To date it's probably saved me from literally thousands of unhealthy meals out of convenience or necessity.
