I was feeling a little down today because I could barely get through my workout. I tried a new machine at the gym that I thought would be easy but it kicked my butt. Lately I have felt horrible because I haven't been able to workout. I got my motorcycle in March and had been having an awesome time learning to ride. Until this happened...

I fractured my shoulder. It was excrutiating to move at first. I slowly gained movement and have been able to get back in the gym with the doctor's OK. So I decided to see how far I have come. I don't have huge losses like other people here on this site. I gained weight while injured and have since lost some of that weight. In total from the first photo to the last one in this next sequence I have only lost 18lbs. I have gained so much more. I am appreciating all that my body can do. So I was going to feel sorry for myself but I looked at where I was and where I am now and I think I am doing alright :D

And what really gets me is not how my body has changed but my face. Only 18 little pounds. When you have 70 pounds more to lose 18 seems like nothing. But here is the evidence.

So getting sweaty in the gym is where I will be. Right there on the recumbent bike trying not to look too lazy. I still can't use my upper body much so I workout my lower body hard. I can't wait to start jogging again. As soon as I get the OK from my doctor I will be on that tredmill!

It is SO awesome that even with your injury, you are still focusing on and doing what you are able to do rather than fixating on what you can't do! Consider your shoulder injury as bragging rights for being a bad *kitten* motorcyle rider!! (is there a cool story associated with the fracture? or did you do something like me and almost fall down the stairs because you tripped over the cat?)

and don't downplay 18 pounds!! that's incredible and yes, it does show on your beautiful face:)
