I LOVE yoga!!

I have been going three times a week on top of my regular work out routines and I just have to say that I LOVE IT! I work muscles that have not seen the light of day in years and while I don't like pain there is something to be said for a sore muscle due to a good work out! The girl who leads yoga at my gym does a great job of accomodating everyone in the class. If you have never tried it, you should. I never thought it would be my cup of tea but it is. I crave it. I wish it was offered more than three times!!

Yoga is great!!!!
I go to yoga classes 2 times a week..
Vinyasa and Ashtanga yoga are fantastic! And believe me, It wont make you sleepy!!
I wish I had more time to go every day. I feel so peaceful after each class and my body is
changing to!!:bigsmile:0 -
I want to start SOOO bad!! Every time I'm at the gym, I watch people go in and out of the class and I keep telling myself that I should go in...However, I am not a very flexible person and I am so afraid of making an A** of myself. I watch it on TV in the morning and I KNOW there is no way I can make my body move in those positions. I know I will love it once I try, but im a chicken!!!:blushing:0

tried yoga once. It just plain hurts.
I felt like my hami's were gonna snap. That's just me whining. I shoulda kept
going with it because it is, of course, excellent for you.0 -

You should go. Starting something new is always hard! Nobody is going to be a pro when they first start. It takes some time. The girl who leads my class always gives options. She starts with something basic and then she shows us the next step if we want to add on!! GO! Try it!0 -
Before I moved I started taking a yoga class, went maybe 3 or 4 weeks in a row and it was the best work out I ever had. I think I should look for a yoga tape to do at home. Maybe I'll do that today to get out of the house for a while, and if it's nice, I think I'll take a walk around the Lake.0

There is always someone more flexy than you are and always someone less flexy. I've been doing it for 8 years, I teach part-time, and that is still true - I'm not the most flexy in every pose.
Stretching and balance are pretty much ignored in fitness. I believe they are just as important as strength and cardio to a well rounded routine. Probably won't help with weight loss though.
If you are sleepy, you are in the wrong class.
I'll get off my soap box now.0 -
I had been working out for two years before I tried yoga.
After one month of yoga, many people came up to me and said "what are you doing? You look GREAT!"
So, there's my totally vain endorsement of yoga.
Also, I'm flexier than I've ever been (including my karate days of yore) and well, just feel good.0
