adjustable dumbbells?

I am looking to increase my weights that I use during my Body Revolution workout program. I currently have 2lb, 3lb, and 5lb dumbbells and am looking into getting a set of adjustable dumbbells (max weight per 25lbs). Does anyone have any recommendations? I've been looking at the Reebok Adjust-A-Weight 25lb, Jillian Michael's Ultimate 25lb Adjustable speed dumbbell, and the XMark XM-3305 25lb adjustable dumbbells. I want quality without spending a ton of money.

I have the Reebok kind that you change the weights with the "knob" on the top, they suck I wouldn't waste my money on them like I did. It's the Reebok Adjust-A-Weight Set, I don't know the model #.

I have a cheap generic set of spinlock ones, they do the job well :)

Go to Walmart.com and search Free Weights. I know Gold's have some for 19.99 (Total 40 lbs)
Look, unless you are a pro Body Builder or have an extensive home gym...any weights will do. They DO the same stuff, so dive in and be easy on your pocket, cause chances are, next year this time they will be catching dust...No Offense, but if you are not Committed to regular Weight Training (for Life) those weight will just become a door stop when you complete your "DVD."

I have a set of sportblock...They go up to 24lbs each and they also have add ons for later if you need more weight to add to them later...I like mine quite a bit and they were less expensive than most...My brother actually recommended them to me b/c this is what he bought after a lot of research...Mine were only $149.99 plus tax which was pretty good to me...Much better than $149 for each dumbbell that is for sure...They also have a website...Powerblock.com...Check them out if it sounds good to you....Best of luck!! :)

ETA: Mine are in the Sport Series...2.4

Just in case you look for them on there...I am not sure about shipping costs ($35 or so) but you can find them at sports equipment stores too.

    Same here. Waste of money.

I use my kettlebells far more than free weights. They're cheaper and more versatile.

If you ever exceed 25lbs, i'd recommend Ironmasters, or PowerBlocks. Other than that if you aren't looking at going over 25lbs, maybe invest in a set up to your max weight of 25lbs, as sometimes conventional vs adjustable prices are only as important as how you will use it. Generally buying weights - Hex - Metal, average $1.00-1.25/lb, so a pair of 8's would average 8-10(singles) and the pair double, whereas adjustable's such as IronMasters or PowerBlock's start from the 100-400+.

Depending where you live, you can find generic adjustables from $20.00-Up. If you ever consider Bowflex Select's - please don't, ever. They are wrong in every conceivable way: Shape, Form, Weight, Stability/Safety - price.

I would look for used online too, I mean, why not? I picked up a set of 5, 8, and 10's from a garage sale for $10.00 - for small work, other that those I use my Ironmasters for bigger heavy movements.

Check out Powerblocks...I have a set that goes up to 50lbs each, and you get another set that goes up to 75...Just started deadlifts with the 50lbs ones, don't think I will go up to the next set soon, so a great set for now... They do have a lighter set that goes up to 30lbs each if I remember correctly...Powerblocks.com

thanks for the comments you guys! I do plan on continuing to lift after I'm done with my current program. I will probably start to work in my BoxFlex into my workout (if I can figure out how to hook everything up and use it). I will probably just get some single dumbbells (10lbs, 15lbs, and 20lb for now). But I am still looking...
