Please help me! I'm gaining weight. Need support. :(

I am having a really hard time right now. I cannot, for the life of me, stop eating bad foods. I have also been having a TON of female issues and have been and am still going to doctors to figure this all out. I've had my "period" since the 27th of June and it has been heavy. I have been bloated and I am just feeling so depressed about all of this. I was down to 136 in February and as of today I am at 151. I have a GW of 120. I am 5'3" and 33 years old. I USUALLY work out 2-3 times a week with strength and cardio. I just cannot lift myself out of this funk and I am not getting much help at home. PLEASE HELP!

    Sorry to hear about your problems. I would certainly get those worked out before you get too worried about the gain.

    Have you tried adding more iron rich foods to your diet? Many women who have heavy cycles lose a lot of iron and if yours is this long you are probably really low. Try getting more iron rich foods and see if that helps with some of the cravings.

    Also, tea is a very mild diuretic. You can try drinking that and see if it helps with the bloating.

    Thank you so much! I had blood work done today to check my thyroid and for anemia. Typically, my periods last for about 7-10 days but they are messing with my pill and the one I was on up until Thursday was obviously not helping. It has me with only 4 days OFF and then right back to it. BLAH!!

    For the tea, should it be black, green, white? I have been drinking a lot of tea and water lately but I stick with either black tea in the morning or white tea in the evening. I'm not a huge green tea fan.

    Feeling bloated and depressed with a never ending period sucks... I have a fibroid so I know what's that like. In fact I had to take my medicine today to stop the bleeding.

    And you CAN, put down the cookie or chips or whatever other junk food you're eating. You Are ultimatly in control of your behaviour. Remember that stuffing your face is a temporary fix to resolve the discomfort you're feeling - but it's only temporary and you know how bad you'll feel afterwards. You do have the power with in you to stop the cycle! You do have a choice! :)
    Instead of numbing your discomfort with food - relieve it by going for a walk...only 5 minutes. Or remove yourself from the kitchen and breathe deeply for 2 min concentrating on your breath. Or grab a pencil and write - write out all your frustrations and feelings. If you really need something in your mouth...drink some herbal tea. That always helps me.

    I hope that this feeling passes for you soon :)

    Whoa! I thought there were actually over 800 pages I was going to have to read. LOL.

    Thank you both! I think I just need to hear some words of encouragement so I can get back in the habit of encouraging my self. Damn, this is hard!
