Am i the only person who doesnt like most fruit?

I feel like such a freak sometimes, reading threads where everyone's like 'just make sure you eat lots of fruit'... Yuck. I LOVE bananas. I'll eat melon if its in the house and the bf chopsit up (i do all the other cooking), and i adore blueberries, but other than that... Pears peaches strawberries apples grapes... I have no desire for it at all. I think its partly because i dont like how i feel when i do eat it-it just seems to make me super hungry. If i were to go eat an apple right now it would give me a raging craving for like, a cheeseburger.

Oh-i do like fresh pineapple. But i dont buy it much. I eat half a banana a day tho in my oatmeal, or occasionally a whole one in a shake. I think i could happily forego all fruit except bananas and blueberries.

Anyone else feel this way?

I am allergic to some of it and simply don't like others. I have found though that most fruit sucks because it isn't allowed to ripen. Give me a locally grown peach or pear and I am in heaven.

I feel the same way. About the only fruits I eat are bananas. Sometimes green grapes, occasionally cantelope ( if it is sweet) I dont care for too many vegetables either.

I find that if I don't eat much fruit, I don't crave it.
But, then I have a really good apple or a tasty orange or strawberry or persimmon and I wonder why I don't eat them all the time when they are so tasty.

So, now I buy fruit and pack it for work every day so I eat it whether I want it or not. The more I eat it, the more I like it.

    I haven't encountered a fruit or vegetable that I don't like.

I grew up eating LOTS of vegetables and fresh fruit when it was in season though.

I went and picked a peck of peaches yesterday at the orchard down the road from my house and we have eating all of them except for 7!!

There is a LOT in a peck, LOL

I do love veggies. Especially broccoli, brussels sprouts, spinach... I could eat veggies all day.

I don't like the smell or taste of watermelon. I also can't stand strawberries, unless it's with something, I can't seem to enjoy by itself.

I love banana's and apples, pineapple and coconut. I usually don't care for too many other fruits, but will probably eat them if they are around and I'm hungry.

I am the same way. Don't even get me started when they add fruit to a dessert. HATE!

For my fruit requirements, I basically only eat bananas and apples.

I pretty much only eat apples. My co-workers tease me about my daily apple. I eat a TON of veggies though.

I hate all fruits except bananas and cantaloupe. I love ALL veggies however, it's weird. But it's a texture thing I think, and I am not a big sweets person. I will eat apple crisp though.

I love my fruit, but when you put fresh fruit iinto a smoothie with a protein powder, its not so "fruit tasting" and trust me.. one banana in a smoothie will totally kill all other fruit flavors.. i found that out the hard way.. i HATE bananas. LOL! Add me if you like.. i can give you a great recipe!

I hate most fruits, too. It's a texture issue for me. I do LOVE mangoes if they are already cut up. Same with cantaloupe and strawberries. But, yeah, those are about it. All other fruits are gross, and bananas are the WORST.

I love many fruits, but I do NOT love melons or citrus. I will only eat bananas if they are still somewhat green or are in something.

I adore fruit, every kind and every one...love it-love-it-love-it!!!!!!!! I'm not a huge veggie fan though, I eat it because it's healthy but if it weren't so good for you I would be content never to eat it again!!! LOL:indifferent:

Fruits ( a lot don't float my boat) and veggies (nasty), but now I wish I could eat more fruit but have to watch as newly dx'd with dm2 and the fruits I did like to eat, too much sugar, fiigures, lol. Veggies are tolerable if dipped in chocolate, sigh.

SOrry if I'm not helping but I freaking LOVE fruits! My only gripe is that living in MI I have limited access to more picked from trees when ripe fruits making most of the fruits here not sweet or even flavorless.

I think if you like certain fruits, keep them around and have at it or try to hide the fruits. Like make a fruit salad with some spices. I make a fruit chaat which requires an indian spice mix called "Chaat Masala". I chop up apple, banana and an orange into tiny pieces and then mix with like 1/2 tbsp of chaat masala. You will like it!

BTW, Watermelon season and summer with mangos and watermelon is pure goodness!

I like my veggies more then my fruits - which isn't too much of a bad thing.

I like all veggies - but not most fruits

Bananas and berries are ok, .... apples, pears and acidic crunchies - I would have to be starving

Grapefruit and oranges - I like if I'm in the right mood

I am more a veggie person too, I can't stand bananas ((blurk)) or watermelon. Really hate dried fruit too.

I can't eat any fruit if it is at all over ripe, but i do eat oranges, manderines peaches and necterines, seedless grapes, Swedish wild blueberries, strawberries occasionally and crispy apples, and fresh pineapple. So mostly summer fruits.

I do not like fruit in my dessert, and think raisins are horrible in anything!

I eat pretty much any fruit or vegie. My guy on the other hand.... He will maybe once a year drink real OJ, but will drink other orange flavored beverages. He likes banana flavoring, but won't touch anything with the real fruit in it. He won't go near other real fruits in any form at all (not even pie). He will eat glazed carrots and candied yams at the holidays, corn ON the cob, and potatoes in any form. Once in a while I will get him to eat a salad (more like soup when he gets done with it).
