I Wish I could look as amazing as Kate Upton, but I just read an article about a pro-ana site calling her fat! The site said she had 30 pounds to lose. This disgusted me because she is a healthy and gorgeous woman.

Considering the source, I would say never take their comments seriously.

No offense intended here as I also had an ED before.

I completely agree I saw the article on a sports site that loves Kate Upton and did not appreciate this other article.

Its too bad the site was actually misquoted. They didnt say she was 30lbs overweight. They said she was 30lbs too heavy to be a high fashion model. Which, imo, is true. She looks much more Playboy-esque or Sports Illustrated (which she was on the cover this year) then Vogue or runway. She has a curvy sexy type shape.
The site isnt pro ana either, its pro skinny. When you read through the forums you can see that they dont welcome pro-ana and encourage those who think that starving is the only way to lose weight to seek treatment. There actually is a difference between wanting/working to be "skinny" and suffering from an eating disorder. Some people dont think so but everyone is entitled to their own opinion and different strokes for different folks and all that. Some people just want to be healthy, some want to be ripped, some want to be skinny or "skinny fat" as some lovely people put it, some just want to feel smaller and some actually want to get bigger/gain.

Thanks for clarifying, it just upset me to read that. I didn't go to the actual site since I read it and was just annoyed.

Who cares what a pro-ana site thinks? She is smoking hot. I wish I looked like that.

I went onto the site and I took this from it...

"What I write on the site is intentionally outrageous and intended to provoke controversy, but I never imagined it would grow to the point where the celebrities I was writing about were actually reading the articles, and that has made me think."

I continued to read about the site and it is not pro-ana, just very opinionated. Which is fine we can all agree or disagree, I guess I fed into the controversy that the writer was trying to start.

No problem. Its not hard to come to that conclusion from a cursory glance. I am actually a member on the site. One of the first things you would see is the "starving tip of the day" but it wasnt supposed to mean actually starving it was meant to be cheeky and to obtain real health or encouraging tips like if you feel a sweet craving coming on, drink a low cal hot chocolate instead or make a sweet flavored hot tea. Unfortunately, some unhealthy ladies do try to eat as little as possible or hide their diet but every site attracts different types. Some good, some bad. The site just believes the skinny aesthetic is beautiful and majority of the members want to be skinny or just want to be a part of the skinny community since alot of members are models or are aspiring models. From what ive read, alot of the unhealthy posts get slammed by other members. The only thing that has gotten alot of people upset is the "takedown" section of the forum. You can post about any celebrity and basically tear them apart as much as you want, whether theyve gained weight, were crappy actresses, etc. This has become an issue because the site has become so popular that the actual models/actresses were reading about themselves in the takedowns and it was hurting their feelings. I personally see both sides, but I also believe as a celebrity, it comes with the territory. Majority of the time its a magazine trashing or dishing the dirt. Just so happens, it is a group of skinny women this time. I know the head of the site has decided to make changes as a result from all the bad press including removing the "starving tip of the day" and such. Im not sure if the "takedowns" will be removed though. Sorry so long!
