Happy new year to all the other "members of the tribe" out there.

I just moved, so I'll be spending the high holidays at a new congregation. I'm kind of nervous and missing the congregation I grew up going to in Los Angeles. Have a good holiday all

  • L'shana tova umituka...have a happy and sweet new year, everyone!!!

this year's different for me, too; the hillel at my school made arrangements to send students to different synagogues around the city, so i'm going to the one conservative synagogue in the metro-New Orleans area. i'm kind of excited, but also will be missing normal hillel, and my congregation at home. also hoping to make good food decisions over the weekend, but don't know how possible that will be seeing as not only is it a holiday, it's a typical college weekend for everyone else.

L'shana tova! A happy and healthy New Year to everyone!
  • I splurged and had some challah at the oneg after services along with one cookie. They were just such a comfort since they reminded me of home. Also had one obligatory apple and honey. totally worth it.

Is anyone fasting next Monday? I never gave it much though before and sort of just did it. But this year I'm contemplating the best things to have before and after the fast. I'll be doing the entire 25 hours without food or water.
