Calorie burn difference?????

Hi All,
I did the stairmaster for 60 minutes today and the calorie burn on the machine said I had burned 525 and on my heart rate monitor it said I burned 675 ... Now I love my HRM's better DUH but why such a big difference??? Just wondering!!

The machines are used as an average for most people, size and weight and such. The HRM is much more accurate because it is soley based on your actual heart rate, not an average.0
