How hard would it be to add a "miles" category for walking? (in my nice voice) I'm walkin 2 miles a day and it seems it would be a whole lot easier to track it that way IJS

Personally, distance alone doesn't really show much for me. At my most out of shape, I started an exercise program requiring me to walk 3 miles in 48 minutes at least 3 times a week. 48 minutes was a pretty good workout. I got faster and my time to do the 3 miles dropped considerably. Now I can run those 3 miles in just over a half hour. Unfortunately, for someone of my weight and metabolism, a 30 minute workout isn't enough. So I had to start mapping out routes that were longer, to get my workout back up over 45 minutes. If I just kept doing my 3 miles every day, I would be getting less and less benefit from it.

Getting healthier is about investing time in yourself. While it's nice to know how many miles you are doing (I'm kind of a geek for that stuff with my garmin watch), time is a far better yardstick for measuring exercise.

Like the previous poster said, its the time it takes you to go those 2 miles that matters. I would shoot for cutting time off your 2 miles walk.

I walk with my kids (they ride their scooters) and aim for faster times.
