Do you get the same kinds of ads on the site? As far as I know they're based on browsing history... I'm not sure about the android app.

This... Mine always has clothes or car seat covers... Because im constantly browsing the web for it.

Boo on all the people commenting on your wife. She's your WIFE, enough said. Explain to her just how private the internet is, like Facebook...hahaha. All you have to do is tell her you aren't looking for other women, especially hot ones. She IS the hot one. That's one of the reasons why you married her  I'm sorry you are getting annoying crap on your android. Keep doing your MFP logs and chats. I try to do MFP on my desktop and only see ads related to fitness, I'm a Fitness Professional who goes to NASM daily. I would be nuts if I got pizza ads! MFP is a fabulous tool for fitness and weight loss/weight gain, motivation and accountability. Good Luck!

Good ole data aggregators. Like many have said, it's based on your browsing history and companies' profiles of you (gender, age, income, etc.)

Check out I Know Who You Are and I Saw What You Did by Lori Andrews. Scary stuff!

    Hello everyone!

I have a multitude of devices (iOS and Android), but recently the new Galaxy Note 2 had me leave (at least for now) iOS as my phone, and I am really enjoying the OS.

However, in my case, I don't care about the CONTENT of he ads, but that there are ads at all! I am more than happy to pay for apps - all of the apps for the most part on my Android device are paid. This is because, quite frankly, I just find the banner ads on the phone to be just plain downright distracting. I can't stand them. I would much rather pay $10 for the app, then have these ads.

And to the poster about rooting and the Ad blocking app - many folks just don't want to root their device. I jailbroke my iOS device time and time again only to reverse the process later because of potential security issues. I know that rooting for the most part is safe - however, I personally would also prefer not to root.

I will keep this app for now but I will continue to look for one that is at least as close to this (might not be as good, but at least close hopefully) that offers a paid option, and removes the ads...

I will say that I have been thoroughly enjoying all of the posts I have been reading so far, and that the comraderie and support here seems great.

I hope you all have a great rest-of-the-day,

    Mike

Thanks again everyone - it was nice chatting (albeit briefly) with you - but I am uninstalling this app today. I am going with the paid MyNetDiary Pro app, it has many of the same features and will still do what I need. However, I will keep my eyes peeled - and if they ever offer a free version of this app, I would probably try it again :)

    Thanks again.

I have no idea what my ads are. I just log my calories and then click off of the thing. Its more of an on the go kind of thing. I think ads are targeted toward what your browsing history is. For instance, I do not get porn, but I get alot of electronic stuff, because that is what I am looking up and researching most of the time.

Yup. The internet is tricky. I get banner ads. For websites that I shop at or ads for local places when I map search. You can thank google
