Okay, so I am currently eating a Panera Greek salad that is loaded with sodium, but light in calories and everything else. I know people say be careful of your sodium intake, but I don't particularly over-consume sodium. I know it retains water, but does it really retain weight? Like will you put on weight because of too much sodium? Thanks!!

When I eat too much sodium I see the scale go up the next day, but it's not really a gain. It's water weight. If you eat too much sodium once it's no big deal. Just don't go way over every day.0

Sodium doesn't have any calorie so it doesn't affect real weight. Water weight will come off in a couple days.
During the power outage and heatwave we just had, I ate a ton of salty snacks. I freaked out a little when I stepped on the scale one evening and I'd gone from 194.6 to 205.8! Once the power came back on I started exercising and drinking extra fluids. I was back down to 196.6 this morning after just a day of normal routine.0
