I've heard / read so many times "out of my league", and I am curious... Just how do you know what league you are in?
I certainly don't! I've never ever dated a guy who was ripped - always thought that was out of my league, someone THAT good looking wouldnt possibly be interested in me.. I've never been asked out by someone like that either. I've dated scrawny, a bit overweight, shorter than me, taller than me... And the only thing they all had in common, was confidence in themselves.
See, I think the only league you need to worry about is the league of the confident...
So... Are you in my league, or not? (I've moved into the confident league)

Welcome to the league...it's a great place to be. About time you opened up your eyes and saw yourself for all your worth and all you have to give.0

There's probably a formula that works out pretty well for this like there is the age rule. Maybe your 1 - 10 number +/- 2?0
-
Well at the end of the season you might get relegated or promoted.0

I thought this was about League of Legends.....
PFFT0 -
I've always dated or... erm... "hung out" with guys that I consider out of my league. I haven't been with a single guy that isn't physically fit. But then again my self-esteem wasn't the greatest so that was probably why I had that mentality. I've always heard that confidence is a huge part of it. Personality is too. I'm moving towards the confidence thing, faking it until its real works pretty well0

 depends on which league. Sometimes there's no where left to go.
I have been lucky enough to date some pretty decent looking guys, but never once considered their "league" when they asked me out. I just thought "damn, ok. Lucky me!" But yeah, there are guys that I see that I wouldn't approach because I'd be intimidated by their looks, sure. I guess I'm not in the same place the OP is yet.0 -
Well supposedly it's biological. You will automatically select "mates" of similar attractiveness as yourself. I've lusted after some fairly hot men, so maybe this means I'm hot too. lol0

Wait wait wait.. I am still not quite there yet -I don't *quite* have the confidence to ask out someone who has a six pack that makes my knees weak... But I am becoming more confident, and maybe one day I will... As long as they have a great inside to match. that said, six pack isn't necessary if they have an impish smile that gets my mind a thinking.0 -
Hmm, this is a good question. I really don't know.0

I am almost in the confident leauge..... 30more lbs to go :-)0

I know that I am in a pick up league that plays after work on Tuesday then hits Bob's for beer and brats...0

There is no league and anyone who tells you otherwise is shallow and not confident in themselves. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder!0

The only leagues I care about are in baseball and 20,000 under the sea0

Yeah there are "leagues" but I think you've got it right with the confidence thing.
I mean, I've seen super attractive girls with ugly guys and vice versa.
I think confidence, basic hygiene, personality (friendliness, etc.) are what makes a person in one league vs. another.0 -

Yeah, that's kinda the point I was getting at... For someone to think another person is out of their league, is essentially saying they're not good enough for that person... I.e. I'm not good enough to date someone who is "attribute x". But that's a load of hooey because there are likely many people with that attribute who would date you, IF you had the confidence in yourself. That's why I said, there are really only two leagues... Those who are confident in themselves, and those who are not. And the nice thing about confidence is that it's internal, and can be acheived. (sometimes it is hard to get there, but it is doable). And I'm not talking confidence from a purely physical perspective. Some of the most beautiful men and women that i have known did not fit that perfect ten outward appearance - and I'd have totally dated them (well the men at least).
My two cents0 -
This is an interesting topic for me...bumping to follow along.0

Dang..i thought this was auditions for the League of Justice.0

I got sent back to the minor league, but I am working my way back up to the majors!0

I thought this thread was gonna be about League of Legends, and now I'm disappointed.0

I've never been interested in boys or actually dating, so I wouldn't know.0

I think I'll join you in the confidence league, OP.
Before I started my fitness journey, I was dating a guy whom I thought was super goodlooking, but I could not get it through my head WHY in the world he would want to date ME. I was not in THE league at that time. Then, after we called it quits, I started seeing another guy... and hmmmm mmmmm he was yummy.... and at first, I was really nervous when we met the first couple of times. But... eventually, and maybe because he made me feel like a sexy beast, my confidence level started rising.
I realize that there are many out there who may not appreciate my beauty (inside and out), but I also realize that there are some who do...
I've dated some super goodlooking men... I've dated average looking men with pretty eyes and a devilish grin... but I think I'll agree with you, OP, it's not always about how HOT they are... for me, it's about so much more...0 -

Besides Kate Beckinsale, Marlee Matlin and Rachel Maddow, every girl I find attractive is in my league. I work hard, I'm not a bum. I treat people with respect and donot let anyone walk all over me. I'm physically unfit but if my past relationships and the current girl I'm dating have taught me anything is that not every girl is attracted to just physical appearance but I am working on making myself more physically apealing nonetheless.
Be confident in your skin. If Shaq can be comfortable in his skin enough to promote Dove soap, I can be man enough to ask a girl out who's "out of my league"0 -

^^^^ I like this A LOT! :-D0 -
The only time I tell someone they are "out of my league" is when there is collusion between to team owners in Fantasy Football. Other than that, I don't believe I'm above or below anyone since everyone's opinion is subjective.
