question about heart rate monitor tracking calories

I use a heart rate monitor to count how many calories I burn when I do cardio (mostly Insanity workouts and running). For those that do this, do you turn the heart rate monitor off during stretching and cool down? With Insanity, I turn off the monitor during the beginning stretch and cool down once my heart rate hits 130. And I turn it back on whenever the exercise starts back up. I guess I do this since I feel that's not really burning calories? I don't know if I'm making sense, just wondering what others on MFP do...

I do tap out and the treadmill. I start it when the workout begins, including warm up and shut it off after the cool down.0

My HRM is on from warm-up through cool/down stretch. You are burning calories throughout the whole thing, especially in cool-down.0
