MFP Sugar tab?

I just added the Sugar tap in my dairy. I have officially taking myself off sugar and am trying to eat all low glycemic foods. So I used up all the sugar I was allowed to eat with MFP on two slices of whole wheat bread, a small banana, and a sweet potato. I even went a bit over. It seems impossible to stay in 27 gr. range that they want me in. I'm not even eating table sugar! So if I'm going over but not having any refined sugar should I still see this as a problem??? I should mention the bread is homemade with no added sugar.
P.S. I have discovered it to be almost impossible to lose weight without cutting out sugar. Has anyone found this to be the same?

Track added sugar not sugars naturally found in foods. I attend a weight loss class and the general guideline is no more than 100 calories (or approximately. 25 GRAMS) per day added sugar for women and 150 calories for men.0

Yeah I certainly have found that Sugar is the evil one. I'm surprised by keeping a track of this how much sugar is in food - and even the natural sugar in fruit and some veges.
I cut down on my fruit intake and veges such as corn/pumpkin etc. I just have a very little of those and limit the starches to very little and still the sugar can creep up fast. Good luck0 -
If you eat fruit, you will go over on your sugar. That's why there are thrice-weekly "Should I eat fruit?" questions popping up on the forums. On the other hand, I had a piece of candy yesterday but no fuit and did not go over on my sugar allotment.
Many people, myself included, have lost weight without cutting out sugar.0 -
yeah, I'm having difficulty with the sugar thing...I'm doing it...but wonder often about the natural sugar vs. the processed sugar0
