incredibly frustrated...

i started mfp a few months ago. i have been sticking to my 1200 calorie diet and exercising for at least an hour a day (i bike 10 miles to/from work and then do a work out when i get home) and yet i still have not lost any weight. feeling incredibly frustrated and discouraged :/ wondering if anyone has any diet/exercise tips to help me see some progress! whats worked best for you?

The only thing I can think without knowing your age, height, weight, and what you're eating is maybe you're not eating enough? If you don't eat enough your body slows down the rate it loses fat.
  • I think you maybe eating too few calories. Your sending your body into starvation mode. So, instead of burnning calories your storing them. If it were me I would increase my calories eaten. Maybe increase to about 1500.

NO. Starvation mode does not happen until a person is under 10% body fat. Stop spreading lies.

My intake has been 1200 or less gross for over 8 months. If these lies were true I would NOT have lost almost 100 pounds. Please read the study on starvation mode before you start quoting 'truths" that are not there.
  • As a nurse and med student I can tell you this about studies. For everyone thats say something is not possible. There is one that says it is possible. But, I'm not here to debate studies. The fact, is if you eating 1200 cals aday and exercising you should see weight loss. There are a lot of reasons for not losing. Have you had a blood work up done?
