So when i am at the gym and i am doing the eliptical it says 300 calories burned but when i enter in my minutes on MFP it said 420? how do i know which one is accurate?

If you are using the heart rate sensors on the machine, then the machine. MFP grossly over estimates. By far the best estimate you will get is with a heart rate monitor with a chest strap. There are many on the market for reasonable prices. I got a lower end Polar for under $100. Best money I have spent so far in my effort to get healthy.0
