Tummy!

Does anyone have some fitness tips for getting rid of excess fat on the mid section. I know sit ups could work but are there any other alternatives to sit-ups? Possibly some sort of activity that works the abdomen? I love being able to work out through activity.

Hoopdancing! www.hoopnotica.com has great hoops. Then go to youtube.com to learn tricks. Babz Robinson has great tutorials. I lost 20 pounds hoop dancing.

my partner told me you lose fat from all over your body so you can't target just one area at a time.
would be nice though! keep mixing your workouts up. i take usn cla thermo and they are amazing!
been taking them almost a week and i can see and feel i've lost it on my hips and tum. my legs are apparently slimmer but i can't see them
i did a kettlebell session last week and it nearly killed me! i was told it can burn fat and define you fast.
if you have a high pain threshold go for it!

sit ups will only define the muscles not lose fat. good old cardio will get rid of the fat :)

I agree that hooping is really very effective for the tummy and hips area. I do just 10 mins a day after my run....5 mins clockwise and 5mins anti clockwise. Keep it up though because when you stop it goes flabby again. I have also found that too much sugar in my diet tends to give me a bigger tummy and also not drinking enough water . Maybe that is just my body though!

Pilates will help strengthen your core and should help tighten the muscles on your tummy.

Really??? Are we asking this ol' chestnut again!?!?!?

You can NOT spot reduce fat on any part of your body. It will go from what ever part it chooses first, and we have to live with that. The only way you can get rid of the fat on your stomach is to lower your overall body fat - which is done through maintaining a caloric deficit.

    End.

    you can't spot reduce

however certain hormones effect where you store fat cortisol ( stress) tends to store belly fat
eostrogen but and thighs and i think insulin (sugar response) is belly and lovehandles
(i've read a few papers in scientific journals but i am not a specialist)

so try to reduce body fat over all - exercise and lift weeights, eat healthy fats get a agood balance of omega 3/6

    then
try to reduce stress and *kitten* the stress levels in your life - how can you avoid reduce and mangae this

at a small meal containing protein and complex carbohydrates every two to three hours to keep your metabolism steady and your blood sugar stable and try to avoid processed food an sugars ( even artificial ones they aren't good for you!) avoid anything that will give you a sugar rush and think low GI

refrain from overtraining if you are a serious athlete. While exercise certainly helps to reduce stress, cortisol levels spike after 45 to 60 minutes of INTENSE strength training

Practice relaxation techniques such as yoga and meditation

Sleep between seven and nine hours a night

also coffee / caffeine and alcohol ran create a cortisol response so try to avoid this ( green tea has lower caffine and may be better)

but don't forget some of it may be due to genetics and it may just be that you need to lower overall body fat!

good luck and hope this helps!

there is some scientific evidence to the sugar thing!
