Nutrient trackers? What are your must have foods?!

In addition to watching calories I also consider nutrients to help me make better food choices and avoid some empty calories (not perfect). I was wondering in there are any other people who also watch nutrients and what they consider their "must eat foods". I love eating new things and it is easy to fall into the rut of ones old faithfuls.

I personally love Hemp Hearts on salads and in yogurt for the extra iron and proteins. I look forward to some new suggestions!

I do exactly the same. For me it's things like sunflower seeds and almonds, because they're a great source of vitamin e, which is important for heart health and (I hope) will help with loose skin. I like tofu for the calcium and protein. Red capsicum because it's also relatively high in vitamin e and contains a lot of potassium. Speaking of potassium I try to eat leafy greens often for magnesium, potassium and omega 3s. I'm also fond of sweet potatoes for vitamin a as well as being such a delicious carb. I love lentils because not only do they taste delicious, but they're low cal for a fairly big serving and chock full of most minerals and vitamins as well as protein and fibre. They're also really easy to cook which for me makes them king of the kitchen. I'm not a big meat eater but when I do eat meat it's grass fed so as to have a reasonable ratio of omega 3s to 6s, but it's also a great source of iron and b12, something my diet often lacks.
