Hello, all! I am new to this site and welcome the postings here and the weight control journey. I am 47 and have gained excess weight over the last couple of years. I am determined to rev up my metabolism and shed the extra weight while preparing my body for the long haul of aging ahead! I joined the YMCA with my family and we are all embarking on this journey. I am also beginning the job of counting calories, something I usually didn't put much thought into. I always watched carbs instead. I am in a low impact aerobics class 3x per week (just began) and am inspired by the women there who are seemingly much older than I am, yet in far better shape. They have amazing stamina and I am inspired to push harder. I also swim in the "little" pool with my 5 yr old as she is learning to swim. The lap pool is too much for me right now. I tried it and wasn't strong enough to feel comfortable. I am also on the treadmill a couple of times a week for 20 minutes and I try to do some strength training on the available machines. I am only using 10lb weights.

Any advice is always welcome!

Linda

  • Hello. My name is Pat and I found this site after someone on the weight watchers board mentinoed it.
I have lost 70# on weight watchers since Dec 07. I have appx 50 more to go.

I have started tracking my food on this site and have a question about that. I entered pork loin today. The drop down gave me choices of 3 oz or a slice. I couldn't figure out how to enter 4.6 oz.
    Thanks for the help.
  • Thanks so much! I am motivated and and so glad to have found such a great site for keeping track and getting support! Thanks, again.
