How to start?

I'm newly motivated after looking at a photo thread here. I confess I don't just want to look slim I want to look slim and fit with a well "toned" stomach. I'm not ready for the gym yet but what can I do to start gently?
I want this to be a slow and steady transformation. I have around 14lbs to goal and rubbish muscles in my stomach in particular after 2 children. Can anyone suggest a way to ease myself in the right direction so I've helped myself when I am ready to hit it harder (probably not until I've finished breastfeeding) I'm a total beginner.
