Cables vs weights

I need to get more resistance for doing the Jillian Michaels Body revolution. I've read a post about bodylastics cables but are these as good as dumbells. Obviously they're cheaper and more compact.

By cables do you mean resistance bands?
This is really an apple to oranges comparison. Dumbells have consistent weight throughout the exercise, where cables increase in resistance the more they are stretched out.
If you commit and put in the work with resistance bands you can definitely get excellent results. If you want even better results, switch it up between the two and keep your body guessing.0
