Walking quickly...

Does anyone else find that during walking, they just CAN'T go faster than perhaps a fast stroll? Maybe I'm just a slow walker, but I cannot for the life of me go 3.5+ mph for more than a few minutes without just getting sick of moving my body so fast. I'm not out of breath or really tired or anything...just don't want to move so fast anymore. Maybe it's ADD and I don't have time to look at the trees and squirrels and whatnot when going that fast...but I can't be the only one, I'm sure. I'm so used to walking for enjoyment rather than fitness, I don't know if I actually *can* walk fast for fitness in the park without torturing myself and not enjoying it at all. I feel like my body is just flailing around.
I can jog for about 5 minutes at about 4.5-5 mph, and am working on increasing that speed and time through C25k, and don't really get sick of moving like that, just need to work on endurance...but I just hate walking fast! Am I the only one and are there ways to beat that?
For the record, I am 27, no joint issues, 260 lbs currently. I lost down to 180 about 7 years ago and hated walking fast even at that weight, so I don't think it's an issue of weight.

Just keep drinking water while you walk. Eventually you'll get that "I gotta pee" fast walk down.

Its something you slowly build up to. I used to be the same way, now I can walk 5mph. Just keep going0

I'm a naturally fast walker, even just walking through the mall. I'm always 10 feet ahead of everyone else! lol
I walk 4 mph when I'm out for a workout, unless I'm running. I don't really know how you can speed up if it doesn't come naturally.0 -
I walk about 3mph for longer durations, I like, it relaxes me, gets the job done. Maybe it's a matter of getting used to the whole "fast walk" thing, it's not something most people are really used to, we need to get somewhere we walk at a pretty normal pace, need to get there fast (like omg bus is leaving) we run, walking fast probably takes getting used to, getting the rythym down or some such.Just keep drinking water while you walk.
