A Little Advice Please....

So I know this is off topic but I figured maybe someone on here could give me some valuable advice. My fiance is finishing up the police academy in Salt Lake City so on November 14, 2009 I will be relocating from Denver to join him. I put in my resignation middle of last week from my current job and my last day will be November 6th, 2009. I am a healthcare administration student and am looking to get back into my field. How soon should I start applying for jobs in Salt Lake?

NOW! Just let them know up front when you are available to start.

If you are trying to get back right to work and are hoping for minimal downtime, I would start applying right away. Include in your cover letter that you are relocating and you would be available for telephone interviews prior to the date you intend to be in Salt lake. That way they will know why your contact info is currently from out of state.

If your resume and cover letter look good to a potential employer, they will make the call. Then, if you are willing and able you can tell them during a phone interview that you would be happy to fly in for a face to face if you reached a final interview status.

It never hurts to start early. Good luck with your move and your job hunt!

Agreed with all the advice above!!!
Can you move early? If so, make that known too.
Most employers only need a two week courtesy notice.
