Why only 14 grams of fiber a day?

Hello, first time posting here
My daily calorie goal is 1200 and my daily fiber goal is 14 grams, but I usually eat around 20-30 or sometimes 40 grams a day. Is there a reason to only eat 14 grams of fiber when eating 1200 calories a day? I'm a vegan so I eat a lot of grains, fruits, veggies, nuts, and legumes.
Any information would be appreciated

Fiber recommendations are usually posted as number of grams per 1000 calories. Having 25 grams of fiber is based on 2000 calories per day...most of us ladies don't need that many calories and so the grams of fiber go down too. Having a plant based diet will naturally lead to higher consumption, that this is one area is is ok to go high in! Just make sure to be drinking enough water.
Hope this helps!
