Fast heart rate after working out

I have Tachycardia (heart arrhythmia that gives me a fast heartbeat) but I've been on medication for it and it's been managed really well. Ive been going to the gym for the past 7 or 8 months and my heart rate usually goes from 160 when exercising back to around 70 or 80 within a few minutes. I just started doing interval training this week and I noticed that my heat rate stays up around 120 for the next few hours after exercise, the first time it was so fast 30 minutes after exercising I couldn't even count it! Has anyone had this before or know if it's normal?
