Shopping around for a "new" car. Currently looking at a 2002 Chevy tracker, 60,000 miles, $4,500. I will have my mechanic take a look at it but in general anyone with experience on that type vehicle or have knowledge about it?
I have had a string of challenging events lately - separated from hubby, dog got sick developed seizure disorder, and head gasket blew on my car (about a week after I put in a new master cylinder & radiator). I desperately need a car but I can't afford to throw good money after bad so any advice I can get, I would surely appreciate it.

Good mileage... but I still feel anything over $3600 is too much for that thing. Do you need ground clearance or a 4x4? If so, look into a Toyota Tacoma or 4Runner. You would be much happier with the build quality, reliability and gas mileage.0
