Thunder Thighs Question

Ok...I need help here. What are some of the better/best ways to lose fat on your thighs? I've been walking/jogging pretty much daily and my calves look sexy as hell...but my thighs, I SWEAR they look worse than before I started.

ALL advice/input is appreciated, but I would really love to hear from some ex-thunder-thigh-carrying women that found something that worked for them.

Thanks, all

Bad news is there's no real way to drop weight in one spot, your genetics are set so you are prone to carry weight in your thighs and unfortunately it will take longer to lose it there, I'm the same way! I've dropped 3 inches from my stomach but less than half an inch from each thigh.

You can do squats and lunges to build the lean muscle in your legs and just keep working on dropping your overall body fat percentage.

    Good luck!!

A trainer once told me to avoid any exercise that resembles the thighmaster a la Suzanne Somers. This will visually make your thighs look wider from the front because you're building the inner and outer muscles. It seems logical but I don't know.

    I'm the same; my torso measurements are 35 - 27.5 - 35.5, but I still have 22" thighs >___>

You can't spot reduce though. Your body carries weight in different places depending on genetics. You have to lose all over fat, and then certain areas will shrink in their own time.

Not sure...mine have gotten a lot smaller, but they still "thunder." Ugh. That said, I used to have some cellulite and since I started lifting weights my thighs have gotten a lot smoother.
  • Squats, and don't be ashamed of your legs big legs are sexy from my pov.

Ugh! I'm in the same boat! And when I run a lot I swear they get bigger! :-/ I know there's no way to spot reduce, just lower body fat....

    Squats, lunges, deadlifts.

Like everybody said.. There is no way to spot reduce, but you can build some muscle so they aren't jiggly. That's what I'm trying to do currently.

Continue losing weight. There's no way to spot reduce sadly.

*swoon* Thank you for that...made me smile!
  • Hi,

Nikiki is ABSOLUTELY right. Genetically women are designed to carry the weight there. something about child bearing, lol. For most it will be the very last place you will lose fat. Tone and firm the areas don't bulk it, and as your overall body fat percentage decreases the thighs will too. Just keep at it.
