Wisdom Teeth Removal Tomorrow

So I am having two wisdom teeth removed tomorrow morning and I wanted to see if anyone has any suggestions on food and exercise. I have been going to the gym at least 5 days a week for the past 2 months and have lost about 10 lbs. I really don't want to stop exercising and gain any of this weight back. Any suggestions on easy to eat recipes and exercises I can do after I have the procedure? Thanks!

hey! I just had mine out on friday. my surgeon said I was not allowed to work out or go to the gym for a week and honestly, I just started feeling better today and I went for a short walk and even that was a lot for me (I got dizzy quickly and usually that doesn't happen). I had all 4 out so it may be different for you but that is what they told me... I spent Friday until yesterday almost totally in bed and on pain killers every four hours with bags of peas on my face the entire duration of the day, except when I was asleep (I ended up having naps almost every day, pain killers make you crazy - plus it didn't hurt when I was asleep). I would talk to your surgeon about exercising but I would be very hesitant with it. I was on percocet until Sunday/Monday and they were still in my system making me a bit woozy for a few days after. I ended up losing 7lbs even though all I did was sit in bed and have a harry potter marathon because I hardly ate. When I did eat I had a lot of jello, ice cream (which was great because it cooled my mouth as well, nice on the pain!) pudding and then apple sauce. I started having pasta (I recommend small elbows or something easy to swallow since you won't be able to chew a lot) and I also had chicken noodle soup as well.
I would try to take it easy, I was worried about the weight thing too, I still did my MFP tracking on everything and I ate way less, I was very surprised at my weigh in this morning. (losing more than I gained on holiday AND a lot more) I would make sure you drink LOTS of water or other fluids (milk was good for me as well) and ICE your face as much as possible! I'm still a bit puffy today and in a bit of pain but I feel SO much better.. Take it easy though, as I said up there I could hardly go for a small portion of a walk I do 4x a week because I got dizzy quickly from being down for a few days. You honestly wont feel like doing much for a couple days, much less working out...I still can't eat properly! Just be really careful and I wouldn't work out...if you have any other questions feel free to ask.0 -
Take a break and rest-- 1 week off will be fine. You're probably going to sleep away the first few days anyway. Don't beat yourself up over it. Good luck!! And don't skip or forget painkillers or you will regret it. lol0

I just had 2 removed a couple weeks ago. I ate a lot of soup, lol! Also, I was the same way- I had been working out like crazy and didn't really want to take any days off, BUUUT, they said that at least 72 hours with nothing strenuous, or until the bleeding stops... I ended up out of the gym for a solid week. But I was back as soon as I was able0

I wouldn't stress about it. Most people find it difficult to eat much right after they get their wisdom teeth out. A few days without exercise shouldn't be an issue.
Mine were removed on a Friday morning. I attended a wedding and reception the very next day and started school back on Monday morning. I took ordinary tylenol instead of my lortab the second day, so I would be comfortable driving myself to and from the wedding. It's normally a simple procedure. And like the poster above me said, you might actually lose weight.0 -
I had all 4 removed at once, and quite frankly I had no desire whatsoever to exercise for a week.
My face was swollen for a few days, and plus you'll still be dealing with some bleeding for about a day or two until the clots form, so I doubt you'll want to do anything to get that blood pumping more.
Eat soft foods. I enjoyed a Jello, pudding and apple sauce diet the day of, and then progressed to some mac & cheese the next day.
Take it easy, recover, and you'll get back into the swing of things in no time.0 -
Honestly. I don't mean to be a downer but take the break! When I got them out I couldn't eat or drink anything for the first few hours. Then I would only eat warm soup and jello. I was also suggested not to exercise because the physical activity will -believe it or not- hurts your face (and so does the sun as well). Stay in doors and rest because its painful. So I'm sorry that's my experience.0
