I got my gourmet salt sampler yesterday, very excited to try one soon in a meal!! This is what I got http://www.amazon.com/The-Gourmet-Sea-Salt-Sampler/dp/B002NO2ITC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1342068075&sr=8-1&keywords=gourmet+sea+salt+sampler

Now that I look at it, I want to invest in this one one day, too. http://www.amazon.com/The-Gourmet-Sea-Salt-Sampler/dp/B002NO2ITC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1342068075&sr=8-1&keywords=gourmet+sea+salt+sampler

Refuse to let salt kill me!! And this is really interesting, flavorful stuff! Fun to learn about just like natural sugars (fancy-pants stuff!)

Darn, put the wrong link the first time ....THIS is what I got yesterday!! http://www.atthemeadow.com/shop/Gourmet-Sea-Salt/Salt-Sets/Starter-Salt-Set-Tins

Going to start by making mini cheese cakes from scratch, topping with some shredded ghoradelli chocolate chips and sprinkling with Meadow Fleur de Sel. Not something that I would eat in large quantities or even every 3 days or so - but definately a wonderful treat that can be worked into my diet plan!!!

    From the meadow's web site : http://www.atthemeadow.com/shop/Gourmet-Sea-Salt/Meadow-Fleur-de-Sel?cPath=1_126

The Meadow Fleur de Sel is made in Guatemala from salt pans famed for supplying the Mayan Empire at the height of its power, the salt has delicate crystals, luscious moisture, satisfying crunch, and a rich, balanced mineral taste. Like any fleur de sel, it's generally the best salt for finishing delicate to medium-bodied foods ranging from Caprese salad, to cooked vegetables, eggs, and fish - even leaner meats like pork, game beef filet, etc.

The quality of Meadow Fleur de Sel rivals any salt from the famous salt producing regions of Guerande or Camargue. Though many people believe that a 'fleur de sel' must be from France, this is incorrect. We use the term 'fleur de sel', a French name with the literal translation of "flower of salt," to describe the type of crystal and quality of salt. Fleur de sels are produced around the world, including Portugal, Mexico, Italy, and Philippines.

Fleur de Sel is awesome! I topped my tenderloin that I made yesterday with just a little bit of it, and it seriously made allllll the difference.

ooooOOOOOooooo... I will share in your excitement over gourmet salts. I've been wanting to try some for awhile, although I'm a bit cost-and-space-prohibited, at the moment... otherwise my kitchen would be an explosion of culinary experimentation (well, more so. I've been sprouting grains lately. Living back with the 'rents, and driving them kinda crazy with my usage of space!).

Anyway, I think I'm going to send you a friend request. I have to lose close to the amount of weight you do, and I don't believe in starvation dieting (as you mention in your profile). Also, I am a college culinary grad, so I know how to cook and am experimenting a lot with adjusting my skills from "French Cuisine, Butter and Cream" to healthier things that still taste good and are still made from real food.

love leftovers like this! we grilled pizza that I made from scratch and for dessert i made paula deen's easy cheese cake from scratch (cream chease, egg, vanilla & I used coconut palm sugar)...but for the topping I chopped ghiradelli chocolate chips and unsalted cashews..and sprinkled Fleur de Sel (its a gormet fancy pants sea salt) oh it was tastey.
