What is the best machine/equipment ???

What is the best weight loss tool/ machine/ equipment you own??? All I have are my resistance bands and number 5 weights. I need some help on what to shop for to increase my activity. What do you have or what would you recommend?

    My bike

Cardio has changed from a hideous, painful activity that I had to force myself to do, to something I look forward to doing.

Probably not the sort of answer you're looking for though and neither is my iPod and HRM, but I can't think of anything else
  • ^^^ thanks Wonderob. I think bikes are great :D . Definitely on the top 5 of my list too :D .

I second the boxing. Also a rowing machine beats all the cardio equipment IMO. Works out cardio, arms, legs, back, abs....

I would have to say 1) my bike... having a good bike with a good seat has revolutionized my workout... 2) shoes with good arch support and anti pronation support... have totally cut shin splints!... 3) GOOD hiking boots with specialty socks that absorb sweat...

We have a rowing machine and it is fantastic! I use it twice a week, on leg days. Also (and I love it because it was free) a barbell/dumbbell set with weight plates, which I got from freecycle.

water rower and treadmill, treadmill seems to be easier to maintaining a higher heart rate in the 150's. the rower is full body workout, hard to hold a high 140-155 HR for long period of time, takes more conditioning. waterrower is super quiet, my baby sleeps while i use it and i can watch tv without cranking the volumn

I am never inside... never... I work out outside all year long...

and I take my kids with me... single mom of three (two of them are in my profile pic) my youngest is on the autistic spectrum... so we just worked up slowly... we are to the point (after a couple of years) where they can all out hike and bike me... we go on 70 mile bike trips and 30 mile hike trips (both of them weekend trips) and I am planning a 160 mile trip over 4 or 5 days next month....
