Ok I'm new on the site and am trying to understand something.....My caloric intake is at 1200. Whe nI add in my workout and go back to my food diary, it says my caloric intake should be at 2100!!!! Um, I"m not eating 2100 calories....it's just not something I can allow myself to do. Is this right? Why is it happening? i know if you workout, you need extra calories to supplement but really almost a 1000 extra calories??

Yes, you should at least eat part of your exercise calories.0

This is from the top of the diet and weightloss help area.

In here are four links. The last one is especially helpful when trying to make sense of the "to eat or not to eat" exercise calories.
They are all really good reading and very helpful.
Hope you enjoy MFP!

you should also make sure you're accurately estimating your calories burned during your workout. A heart rate monitor is the best way to do this.0
