Commenting on another thread about how much I like my swimming, I realized that we have groups for all manner of things fitness, but I haven't seen one for the waterfolk among us!!!

So here I am inviting all you swimmers, aquafit lovers and all those in hydro pursuits to join me. Everyone from triatheletes to dog paddlers welcome!!! Even non swimmers looking for a little moral support to jump in!

Looking for motivation, inspiration and tips. I'll post a little about me in another reply but first of all, what do you love about water exercise?

    Ok...so about me...I grew up on a lake, so when I finally decided that it was time to take exercise a little more seriously, I realized that I would prefer swimming to almost any other form activity I can think of (but one:blushing: )

    I started and stopped a bunch of times, but I have finally been swimming regularly 3 times a week since last January. I definitly started out in the Pollywog category! For every length of the pool I had to stop and rest! I'm much better now and seeing improvements all the time, but suffice it to say that if you are large and middled aged and intimidated about heading off to the pool - I'm here to lend and ear and give you some moral support....I mostly discovered that there are more of us out there in the water than I ever expected to see the first day I headed down there!
