I started walking at 50, doing the Breast Cancer 3-day which is 60 miles in 3 days. Then two years ago, I was bored and at 53, I started running. I've done about 5 half-marathons and hope to get a decent time in one this fall. I've lost a total of about 50 pounds, 35 with the help of MFP.
It's never too late!!

Thanks for sharing! I am doing more and more walking, and one day hope to start jogging/running.
Right now I get cramps in my legs and feet, but I hope to get there one day soon!0 -
I believe that I will always work out in some way or other, no matter what age I am! I have noticed since I have lost 40 pounds it is much easier on the joints! If I don't I will be as big as a barn!!!0

for cramps, make sure you have potassium, calcium and vitamin d. Go online and get a good post walk/run stretching workout. I have one that takes 4 minutes, but helps tremendously0
