Jeans NSV (and grumble)!!

Sooooo. I tend to have a single pair of jeans that I wear consistently. Before moving down South (arrived the first of April) I had this pair of size 15's that were my go to for jeans. I had to stop wearing them at some point because they just started getting big and I looked like frumplestilstkin. Today I tried them on again for S&G's and I can actually pull them right off without unbuttoning them!! Like I don't even have to try to slide them down, one wiggle in the right direction and they come right off.
Stupid thing is that I had bought a pair of jeans (size 15) before I moved down here and I could barely get into them. I am wearing them right now and they are almost perfect if not a bit loose. They are different brands but I can't stand how sizes vary SO MUCH.
I still have a pile of jeans I have been hoarding for years and the size 11/12 fit (but give me a not so cute muffin top) - they probably aren't a realistic 11/12 but it makes me happy anyways!!
Woop woop to NSV's - love to hear some others!

I've also had some jeans fall off of me!!
I started last fall in an 18/20 jeans....and I now can proudly wear a size 8 (in one brand anyway!) a size 10 in most brands and a size 12 in some other brands....so yeah, I'm sticking with those size 8's as my "official" size dangit!! But of course I'm sure it's all got to do with the fabric, cut and style of each.....
Best of luck to you!!!0 -
I hear ya! I went shopping the other day and the size 14/16's in the Women's were too big at one store. Then I went to Kohl's and tried on size 12- just to see how close I was getting- didn't expect much. Well, I could get them on and buttoned, but they were still a little too tight-prob about 5 more lbs. Tried on an X-Large shirt with the capris- WAYYYYYY too tight!!!! I have tons of X-Large shirts that still fit fine! How in the world could that be?? **sigh**0

Congrats!
It drives me nuts with the size difference between brands too! :grumble: But I had a similar NSV yesterday. I had this pair of pants I couldn't even zip 2 months ago. I put them on yesterday - they are now almost too big! Yay!
Keep up the good work!!! :bigsmile:0 -
LMAO at the use of "frumplestilstkin" lol love!
I'm so happy for you!!! Being able to fit comfortably into a pair of old jeans is an AMAZING feeling Keep up the great work!!!0 -
Great post! Congratulations! Love it when my pants fall off and get to buy smaller ones. On the flip side, I lost all my boobs on my journey so had to buy smaller bras as well... =( Oh well. Overall I'm a much happier camper!
Hate the size variance thing too. I'm mosty a size 2, but still have a pair of size 5 jeans that fit pretty comfortably. How the heck...?0 -
That's awesome!!!
I hate how sizes vary too. Either they skew way low or way high. In one store I'm one size, in another store, I'm definitely not THAT size but a size higher. I totally stick with the brands that give me the lowest number.
I'm currently rocking the frumplestilstkin look. I need to buy new jeans again, but... I also wanna try to hold out a little bit longer. Since I just *bought* jeans.
But! However you slice it, these are GOOD problems to have! So congratulations!!!! It's a good feelin' ^.^0 -
Yeah I have about 6 pairs of size 12's, two are way too big, two fit just right and two are still too small (no I'm not goldilocks!!) it's soooo annoying!!0

My favorite store ever is Maurice's. And even when I shop there sometime's I need a 9/10 in their brand and sometimes I need a 11/12! Its the same stinking brand!!!0
