Calories burned during weight lifting.

I noticed MFP doesn't count calories burned during weight training and I was curious if there is a reason for that. I found this link: http://www.livestrong.com/article/338469-how-to-calculate-calories-burned-weight-lifting/ that gives a formula for calculating the calories.
If there's a reason they're not counted here then I don't want to add them to my daily totals, however if it's just a feature that MFP doesn't have then I'd like to start adding those to my daily burn.

I would suggest using another service like fitbit or endomondo and tie it in with MFP. That is how I calculate weight lifting etc.0

Do those sites track calories burnt as well? I use MFP, Runkeeper and Fitocracy now, I can track my routines but none of those sites track the calories.0 -
Log "strength training" under the cardio section. The strength training section is for logging weight and reps, not burn.
If you want a reasonably accurate number, you need to wear a heart rate monitor with a chest strap and keep your HR up during your workout.0 -

I use runkeeper, well I used to, but I use endomondo because it feeds into my fitbit, which in turn feeds into MFP. That i can guarantee works0 -
Thanks for the info, I'll check that out. I do use a HRM but it's a strapless one, I just check it periodically throughout my workout.0
