Between sets?

What do you do between sets? At first I just pace around bored, but by the end of the work out I start doing other things like sit ups. I hate resting between sets, but I know it's important. What do YOU do?

I head over to the squat rack and do some cool down stuff, like some curls. Or I'll set the bar at mid position and do leg up stretches.0

Sit ups, drink some water, stand under a fan and cool off.0

I don't have time to "rest" between sets, so I do my exercises in groups. On lighter days, I just alternate between two lifts, on heavier days I do sets of three. So I am "resting" in between sets, but not completely. That probably affects my overall performance, but realistically, I can't imagine any time in my life that I would ever have time to just sit and "rest" between sets.0

I do sit ups, or get a drink of water.0

Drink water, switch to another set of weights that works the inverse muscle that I just worked (ex. biceps then triceps), or I've started doing jumping jacks between some sets.
Hope that gives you something!0 -
Catch my breath, drink some water, check myself out for a few seconds, maybe throw in a random set of something different & then hit my additional set(s).0

Drink water and look at myself in the mirror lol. Or just look around at everyone else.0

I sit around looking uncomfortable.0

Drink water and get in the zone0

I drink some water and do some light stretching.0

Check out the fine booty's on the ladies working out.
Unfortunately at the time I go to the gym it is usually senior citizens who are in there with me so on those days I just sit there and cry between sets.0 -
Well today I had to show my husband how to use the machines...it was hilarious. I usually just drink water and wait for my machine.0

Try upping the intensity of your workouts if you're impatient between sets. Between most sets I'm sitting down trying not to pass out or throw up. Then I spend a minute or two mentally willing myself to get up and do another set. Especially when it's deadlifts or squats. Whew.
If you're sticking to easy exercises, just superset things and give yourself minimal/no rest. Do exercise A, then go right to exercise B, then back to A, etc... Obviously avoid exercises A and B being similar exercises so you're not using the same muscles.0 -

Hey, I really love this concept. Thanks! I'll stop puny progressions of 5#s and maybe go up 10# increments.0 -
