I know you sweat more when its hot...but i was at zumba last night and sweating way more than usual. Does that mean i am burning more calories thant usual too?

If so, it's a negligible amount, if you ask me. Sweating just means you were hotter. It could've been due to working harder or due to the room.

hmmm I would say there might be more thermogenesis going on but prolly just losing more water due to sweating more....but the good side of that is....you are ridding your body of toxins faster so it can work better

To the best of my knowledge No. You will lose water weight and if you are just starting, it will make a pretty big difference that you will see. But make sure you re-hydrate because the last thing you need is for your body to seize up on you.

I could be wrong though, it wouldn't be the first time thats for sure =P

rehydrating is a very good point....helps muscle heal after workout ....less muscle spasms and sprains if you keep hydrated as well as keeping your kidneys and liver healthy so they can do their jobs of flushing out toxins as well.

I'd be curious to see the results from a HRM. Sometimes I think I must be burning less because the heat makes everything feel like so much effort!

The only benefit to working out in the heat might be for yoga to help with flexibility.
