Measurements Question

I get a bit confused with "Waist" measurements. I read that you should measure across your bellybutton, but I have a super high waist (probably a good 4 inches above my navel) so where do I measure from?

Your waist is your smallest point on your stomach usually a few inches below your boobs certainly not your belly button! It naturally curves in thats your waist. Your waist generally is near the bottom end of your ribs to give you an idea but look in the mirror and where it curves in like an hourglass is your waist.

Bend to the side and find where your waist indents. That is where your natural waist is--for women at least. Don't just go by where you think it is smallest or you could be measuring in the wrong place. That happened to me. I was measuring where my hip started to curve. Also, saw it recommended that for dress fittings, you would tie a string around your waist, then bend side to side so it settles. Then measure there.

I count where the naturally smallest part is as my waist...but then I also measure around my belly button.

I know where my waist IS lol, I just am not sure where I should measure as I've heard different things. I was told that the natural waist isn't where I should be measuring but I'm thinking that that person may not have known their waist from their elbow
