You're always burning calories even if you're laying down, so your HRM will keep registering until you die.
Usually I turn my HRM off once my heart rate comes down to a reasonable level (I use 110 for that marker currently). Only takes a minute or two after I'm done with my exercise.0 -
LOL! I just realized as long as my heart is beating my hrm will go up in calories, LOL!0

once im done with my Zumba DVD (after streatching/cool down) i turn off my hrm and log the calories as that0

I turn mine off when I come down out of my zone (generally around 110 also)0

After cool down.0

I turn mine off once I'm done working out, regardless of where my heart rate is.0

I stop mine as soon as I'm done my 5 minute post workout stretching.0

I turn my HRM off after I'm done w/ my cool down/stretching. If I'm wearing it during heavy cleaning, I turn it off as soon as I finish. Just depends on what I'm doing. Don't feel silly, not a dumb question to ask. We're all here for support.0

Once I stop actively working out, this usually means when the time runs out on the machine, I've ran my distance or done my last rep on the machines. Maybe I'm under reporting my calories then but I like a little room for error.0

I stop mine as soon as my heart rate comes out of my zone, which is anything lower than 115. Usually that's right after cool down, or stretching.0

Yes, we're all here for support. No worries! As for me I usually turn it off after a few minutes, usually when my heart rate goes to 120.0 -

This is a good question. Until your heart rate returns to it's normal level you will be burning calories at an increased rate. Actually there are some recent studies that this may continue longer than previously thought. If you want to be conservative then turning off as your finish the exercise or at 110 or something like that is certainly fine but most likely you will burn more than that. There are questions about the accuracy as it approaches your normal standing heart rate. For the purposes of logging in MFP I typically log about 5 minutes or so after I finish a hard workout.0 -
