I'm wondering if anyone on MFP can relate..............

I've noticed as I get closer to my goal weight (which I work my *kitten* off for) People at work that I barely know are making snide comments. "you need to eat a cheeseburger", "why are YOU on a diet", "you are going to blow away" , "you dont need to lose weight", "your too skinny, do you eat?" and these are said very snotty!

I was in the cafeteria getting my coffee and this woman in front of me (that I dont know) was getting a huge donut and a large cappuccino with whipped cream and asked me "how do you stay so skinny" so I said "I work out really hard and I eat healthy" and as I walked away I heard her say to her friend "what a *****".

I'm really proud of myself for my accomplishments and these women are putting me down!!!! SO I am going to hold my head up and take these as a compliment so THANK YOU!!!!! *****es!

Yes, I do get them more and more as I get in shape. I work in an environment that that is 97% male dominated. That are very positive about my weight loss. It is my male and female friends that are extremely negative. Just not sure WHY???

Thanks for posting. I was being to think I was alone.

Not negative but folks will say I look great where I am, I think they just care and don't want to see me get too skinny (fat chance!)

Just lie and say I eat anything I want, as much as I want and never work out....That'll probably piss them off more.....so in other words it will work perfectly LOL

First of all, you look great. So don't change a thing. =p Secondly yes people can get jealous, it's just human nature to want to drag people down to your level when other people seem to be successful at something. In my experience the positive comments greatly outweigh the negative ones anyways, so let the chubby careless people sulk in the corner, why would you even care about their opinion anyways. They obviously don't share the same convictions as you do.

I can relate. Men and my good girlfriends love my new diet and changes in my body. But some women make comments that I think suck. I don't listen. Its a way better problem to have though than being overweight and miserable.

Jealous yes, negative comments no. I've had people tell me they're jealous but everyone has been supportive for the most part.

Nobody has made negative comments to me, quite the opposite actually. Most don't recognize me and ask my daughter who she was talking to. They are more proud of my accomplishment than I am and tell everyone.

People say I look great, I say thanks and then I change the subject. I'm sure I'll get some negative comments soon enough, but I won't pay any attention to them.

I got a mixture of both. A lit of my co-workers are very supportive. I have had a few who started making stupid remarks in "general " but it also happened when I was wearing or doing something I was doing... At firat I took it really hard but now am working on letting it not phase me.

I have very little support, my brother called me fatty before I started my journey, now saying walking and doing cardio won't help I need to strength train, which is true, but no gym access right now. He also won't eat my food now because it's healthy crap.
I lost my best friend of over 20 years, she got pissy and quit exercising with me because I was lost a few pounds and she stayed the same. Now she barely talks to me and is always starting up drama. She still *****es about being overweight herself, but refuses to do anything about. So annoying!
My parents aren't supportive, they don't eat my cooking anymore, cause it's healthy. I'll tell my dad proudly, I've lost blank pounds. He'll just say something like, well you need to lose 50 more. My mom, says I don't spend enough time with my hubby and am neglecting him, because I'm too busy working out every night.

My only support is from my hubby, and a couple coworkers and friends, you guys on here. I love you guys!!!

mine is after gaining weight, but yes. All the time. Must be jealousy or a self-defense mechanism for those people. Especially at work, it's almost shocking. Gee, sorry that I workout and watch my diet.

People have always been rude to me about the way I watch calories, and exercise.

I don't even hear it anymore, I just do my own thing.

They don't realize I DO eat cheeseburgers, and cheesecake, and yummy mexican food - I just balance it out with exercise.

    People are spiteful and jealous.
