Soda (including Diet) increases stroke risk

I came across this article and wanted to share. I think all of us know that soda pop is the devil in a can for our health and fitness goals- but it has now been confirmed that even diet soda has a huge impact on your risk for stroke. See link below for additional info:

    It's from the Harvard Nurses Health Study which basically means it's meaningless, in my not so expert opinion. That study is cited all the time but it's just a questionnaire they're working every which way and drawing asinine conclusions from. It's a good jumping off point to form a hypothesis to test, not something you act upon. The recommendation for women to under go hormone replacement therapy to protect against heart attacks highlights that--come to find out it caused heart attacks--oops. Guess we should have tested that.

    Not that I think soda isn't terrible for you because I'm absolutely convinced sugar plays a significant role in the metabolic syndrome and should be kept to a minimum--until proven otherwise by well conducted studies, of course.
