Ok. So, I've been doing MFP for a few weeks faithfully. I'm also doing a P90X 90 day challenge on the side. Things are going fine, but just recently I was asked to turn on the "sodium" setting on my MFP diary so that my "coach" could see what I was really eating. The shocking reality is that I was going over my sodium allowance.

She told me to not eat the frozen dinners (smart ones, lean cuisine, ect)....and basically everything in the sorts. I'm literally obsessing over it all now, thinking that I am damaging the results that I may have by eating the stuff.

What are everyone's thoughts out there?

I do eat whole foods, lean meats, ect...but the other stuff just happens into my diet too. Today, we went out to eat at Rock Bottom and I thought I made the better choice of eating a veggie burger w/o the bun. Well, it was horrible 1756 sodium and then like 22 grams of fat. I could taste the salt...and it was pretty bad. However, I had the food and we were paying for it. UGH!

Could someone please share their experiences doing MFP with the use of sodium and or other means. I need more encouragement, because I am feeling kind of frustrated right now thinking that I cannot feed the family 100% whole all the time or myself. My diary is open too. :)

Thanks

They can pry my salt from my cold dead hands. I have no problem with hypertension and have no intention to limit my sodium. People think it affects weight loss but it can't affect fat loss. I don't care how much water I carry. I'm not a fitness competitor looking to show more definition.

I try to generally keep mine around 2000 or less. I used to be a salt-aholic, but I don't use it anymore. The prepackaged frozen "healthy" dinners are LOADED with salt. I once used to eat them. I stalled last year while trying to lose weight and found my sodium was always over 3000. I lowered it to 2000 and started losing again. For me it is beneficial. I never had a problem with hypertension either. But I don't want to stall again due to sodium.
