Anyone Dance to Lose Weight?!

I do! And I'm very specific about how I do it. I have to do it in the dark for some reason. I'm just so uncomfortable about doing it in any artificial light. Sure, it's okay if it is only the sunlight coming in from the window, but the overhead light can't be on or I just lose all momentum.
Another thing is I can't do it without an MP3 or iPod or some other portable music player. It has to be through headphones. I can't do it with surrounding music and I don't know why. I'm sure I could if I blasted the music through the empty apartment - but that being said, I don't think the other five until in this triplex would appreciate my taste in music. But if I have music in I can dance to almost every type of music. Weird, but it's the truth!
I also have a hard time doing anything if someone is watching me. I feel like I can't let myself go and I won't be burning as many calories. Even if it's my boyfriend. I could go to a dance or a club or something and be fine, but if it's in the privacy of my own home I can't do it, if I'm doing it to lose weight. I don't like an audience!
And lastly, I let myself go way way way too much when I'm alone. I find myself flailing all around and it amuses me to think about it. Does anyone else find that they find themselves doing things they would never ever let anyone see when they're dancing to themselves?
