NSV that I am EXTREMELY proud of

I've been walking up to our local outdoor track every day, with my 2 year old in the stroller. Once we get there, I do my 5K training, and then we walk back.
Today, on our way to the track, we got drenched with rain. If it would have just been me, I would have kept going. But since I had my son with me, we headed back home.
There goes my run for the day. :-(
After my husband left for work (works nights), I called the park district to see how late their nursery was open, so that I could get in my run using the indoor track. Unfortunately, they closed in a half hour and it would have taken us that long to walk up there. And no, they don't allow strollers on the indoor track.
There goes my run for the day. Again. :-(
Instead of giving up, and skipping my day, I tossed my son's shoes on, threw him and our puppy outside. And while the 2 of them were playing, I got my run in.
That's right. I just did my run for the day in our backyard. I had to circle it a gazillion times, but I did it. I was eaten by bugs, drenched in sweat from the humidity, twisted my ankle, and I have never felt so damn good or so proud. I couldn't believe I was actually running in the backyard, of all places. But I got my run in. I didn't give up, I pushed forward and found a way. And I am so unbelievably proud of myself right now. I'm still smiling about it. :-D
And my son has a new favorite game of Chase Mommy Through The Yard.

NO EXCUSES, BABY!!! Hell yeah! :-D
