Really good coffee drink
I really wanted a healthier coffee drink, so I made this at home and it was delicious:
1 c. 1% milk
1 1/2 tsp. instant coffee
1 packet Splenda
1 packet French Vanilla Coffee Mate powder single serve size
2 ice cubes
Blend in the blender until a little foamy.
I also made one for a chocolate lover with about 2 tsp of cocoa instead of the French Vanilla Coffee Mate and it was pretty tasty too.
I was really just trying to not spend $4 on coffee, but I found a delicious healthy coffee drink. Next time, I might try using vanilla extract, which would cut out the 60 calories worth of creamer.

Sounds good... I usually make:
1/2 cup skim milk
1/2 cup coffee (whatever flavor I have- today it was Vanilla Cinnamon Spice )
1/4 scoop vanilla protein powder
2 stevia in the raw packets
3 ice cubes
SO good, and very filling :drinker:0 -
I make mine with brewed coffee, 1/4 c skim milk, 2 tsp. sugar in the raw, and 3 ice cubes0

Sounds good! They have fat free half-n-half that is really good in coffee drinks...makes it nice and creamy!0

So how many calories did that drink come to?0

I've been making a yummy iced latte.
4-8oz cold coffee (depends on how much I have)
4 oz skim milk (40 cals)
1 scoop Biggest Loser Designer Whey protein powder, vanilla bean or chocolate deluxe flavors (50 cals for either flavor)
A couple drops of Stevia
Mix well and serve over ice
90 cals and YUMMY!! (packed with protein too!)0 -
So how many calories did that drink come to?
My drink is 120 calories (without the French Vanilla creamer packet, which I think was another 60 calories). The 1 c. 1% milk is 110 calories, the instant coffee is 3 calories, and the vanilla extract is 7 calories. I've been using the extract instead of creamer, and it's delicious. I also put in a Splenda or two, depending on how much instant coffee I use.0 -
Here's a hint for excellent frozen/blended coffee drinks:
make a coffee syrup - it will intensify the flavor! just make coffee as you usually would and reduce it on a low boil. this does require some sugar but you do not have to use much at all. when it coats a spoon you have syrup! let it cool and then go to town. delic!0 -
