Does sugar matter?

Hi,

I've been on MFP for a while now and have so far managed to lose about 16lbs. However, in the past few days, I've gone up 2lbs.

All this time, I've been tracking calories, carbs, fat, and saturated fat, but not sugar. Just out of curiosity, I went into settings this morning and switched on 'sugar'. I then went back over the past few weeks and noticed that every single day I have been WAY over my sugar allowance - like double each day - even though I have been under on calories, carbs, fat, and sat fat.

Could this be why I am not losing weight very fast? if it helps, I get the vast majority of the sugar I eat from fruit, and other natural sugars, rather than processed ones.I don't eat chocolate or anything like that.
