Hello!

I'm back after a long summer vacation from MFP. I've missed you! :flowerforyou:

I didn't go to far off course. But I did gain a couple pounds, met someone new who made it clear that he prefers thin girls, and I'm in the process of reeling myself back in and trying to get back to the routine that worked so well.

My new goals! Not only to get back to my "healthy" goal of 125 at my heaviest but then go for the long-term goal of trying for 115. I am the same height as Jillian Michaels from Biggest Loser and since last episode told me how much she weighs that is my new ultimate goal.

I am struggling with the new lifestyle of having a social life... eating at my New guy's house and not being able to eat easy diet no brainer meals and having MFP readily available when I'm at his house. I could use advice, pep talk, accountability... you name it!

Would love to hear from you... my long lost family.

  • I'm sure you'll do wonderfully!

I want to caution you - please be careful about a guy who is vocal about his preference for thin girls. If a guy doesn't care for you/love you even when you're heavy, he probably won't love you like you deserve if you're thin.

Just a little bit of advice ---- Congrats on getting back into the 'saddle'!

I hear you there. It is the only red flag and it is a doosey! I told him and showed him what I used to be and told him there are NO gaurantees that I won't be that way again. I am still really insecure about my weight issues and him saying what he said struck a nerve; but I guess that is the desire of alot of guys and since the relationship is new and he is getting to know the rest of me...?

    Thanks

  • I'd still be wary. Any guy who makes his expectations of a thin woman known has a nasty potential. Since he knows you have struggled with your weight in the past please be careful and RUN AWAY if he starts suggesting you 'not eat that' or 'haven't you already eaten' or 'why don't you eat this instead'. I have the most wonderful husband EVER!! and he doesn't care how much I weigh. I know he's only like this because he's living his life for Christ and puts emphasis on character but I could've VERY EASILY seen myself with the guy I dated before him feeling oppressed by his expectations.

Please be careful. Regardless of what ANY man says your value is high and your weight, though important for health, is of no significant importance and if he places too much value on it he is not valuing YOU as he should.
