Reaching my goals!

I just came across the site after my wife started using the app. I must say that there are many motivating stories on here. It's amazing to read about so many people taking the time and steps to improve their quaility of life. I officially restarted my weight loss journey a couple months back. I wasn't obese but I wasn't happy with the person I had become. I stepped on the scale and weight in at 207 lbs. I know for some this is not an issue, but for me it was. If 207 now, then 217, 227, and who knows where it would have lead? I started off doing a little bit of jogging. I say a little because I have always hated to run. I am to the point where I job about 12-15 miles a week. Nothing impressive but I try to run 3.1 miles each time. I have also been doing so minor weight training, and spending about 20 minutes each workout session in a wet sauna. Today I weigh in at 184 lbs. I feel better about myself and I have made a healthy lifestyle change. It's not easy to pass up the unhealthy foods all the time and I do allow myself to eat them every now and then. The key is to limit your intake. I guess my ideal weight would be around 175 and then I can start working on muscle definition. It is a long journey but one I am enjoying. I don't want my health to be the reason I can't enjoy a long life with my wife and kids. The "home stretch" is in sight and is proving to be a challenge. It's always the last 5-10lbs that give you problems :-)

Amen on the last 10 giving you hell, don't I know that. I have stopped worrying so much on the weight and more on fat burning and definition. I started the walking, jogging, and up to running and I absolutely love it. I don't ever have a specific distance, just what I feel like going sometimes that's 2 miles and sometimes that's 7. I have just recently gotten onto weight training, but I love that as well. I also am currently in the middle of Insanity, and I love love love that. Good luck you seem to be doing wonderfully!
