Best way to track calories burned?

Hi everyone, I've just joined recently, and have noticed that MFP seems to really over-estimate the calories I burn. Most of my exercise is done walking, or playing badminton and I'd love to just know how much I've really burned! I can only spare around £20 on something for now, and was wondering if some more experienced users could share what would be best to buy/use? :)

EDIT: I also have an android smartphone, if there are any apps that may help too.

Android has a ton of free pedometer apps. I don't know if any of them work though.....

Yeah I'm hoping someone might be able to point me in the direction of the best one, if not I guess I'm gonna have to just use trial and error with it.

I've tried a few of them. Several won't work in the background so you can't lock the phone. They will pause if you have an alarm go off or take a call....... A couple of them randomly reset which makes them useless.... The only one I've found so far is called Accupedo. It runs in the background, so it keeps going if you close it out and lock the phone.

I think I'm going to break and buy me one though. I like the looks of this one....

Awesome, I may try that one soon then, I downloaded one called CardioTrainer and it seems to have done the job.. shows a map of where I've walked, my mph, time, and calories burned plus it will pause if I stop for a certain amount of time, so I can use it whilst shopping etc too! I might also get Accupedo just to compare though :)

You will have to tell me how it is if you get it! It looks ideal, and much more suited to something like playing badminton and higher activity sports.. I'm not too confident about having my phone strapped to my arm doing that!
